My update was installed on Sep 17 so I dediced to restore the system to an earlier date. However, the Windows is not showing an earlier date than Sep So I restored the Windows on that date only but it didn't fix the issue. Is it possible to select more dates for System Restore? Or should I do thing else to fix this issue? Tue Sep 20, pm So uninstalling the driver didn't help?

I've fixed the "USB device not recognized" issue that way a few times before. It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.
Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Uninstalled the "Controller" device and reconnected the controller all these have failed and led to the same results.

In the Search for download field, type "Xbox" and select Gaming as the product type. Select Xbox Wireless Controller for Windows as the product this is the software for the wireless gaming receiver. Select Run. The Xbox Accessories setup program installs the necessary files to your computer. Step 3: Connect the Xbox wireless controller to your computer. The light will flash green.
